Listening provides more vision than you will ever see.
"If we don't look at our children, they will never seen themselves! We must help them get through the experiences of their lives. Foster is not a birth designation, it's a place holder for funding, it tells our nation, how many lives we have in our hands to give hope to every day."

Welcome!
The WRITE TO ME FOUNDATION was established in October 2004 by Gigi Edwards Bryant, who entered the foster system in Travis county in 1964 at the age of six (6) years with her siblings. She aged out at 18, homeless, seeking to finish high school, and with her young daughter and reaping through the experience of living in over 20 houses before she was 16.
After staying with friends and acquaintances and eventually finding her great grandmother and a cousin, who offered her a place to stay, she knew that the family, siblings, and relationships that were lost in the system were changed forever.
"I would be OK if my story was the end of the experiences for our children in the system, however, we are still separating families, moving children far to often and leaving our children too afraid to dream". We know how to treat children in this nation, the term "foster" in front of our children, should not change a child's experience, especially in this nation of resources and outstanding citizens.
The Foundation is fueled by friends, individuals, grants and corporations that have a passion for serving God's most vulnerable population, His children. The goals of the foundation is to provide let our children know that if they are breathing, they are precious and sometimes that comes with challenges that are out of their control. The Foundation's goals are accomplished through mentoring, volunteering, grants and donations.
I believe the he was talking about all of our children.
We inspire children to live up to their full potential. To understand that privilege comes through Christ and "foster children" does not describe or set God's limits His children's dreams or accomplishments.
Children need encouragement like plants need water.

We operate with the belief that if we ignite hope, the sparkle in their eyes will light their fire. 'Sometimes, in any experience, we have to close our eyes to see the future.'
